I can't WIN for losing...

This phrase has crossed my mind and lips many times in my life. Whether it be frustration about something not going the way that I would have liked or it may be me trying to control something that I can't . I have had my share of pity parties. However, when a friend ranted and used this phrase today, something in my spirit would not allow me to just console and empathize with them. I have been   can be a person that be very stress and worry prone person. There have been and still are times when the smallest most trivial issue can worry me incessantly. I have been so stressed and worried that my whole perception of my life has been distorted. Its easy to skew reality when you are having a pity party. Suddenly the flat tire that made you late for work this morning is going to ultimately ruin your life. But, did you know that God did not intend for us to stress about anything? I am serious! (Take a moment to imagine your life without any stress or worry. Sounds like a happy and peaceful life right??). If you are a parent and your child comes home to tell you that they can't win  for losing. I can imagine that the phrase may hurt or frustrate you. Right? Especially seeing as how you gave and continue to provide them with all of the tools that they need to prosper and win. How is God different?

Its easy to wallow in a pity party when things appear to fall apart around you. However, I have discovered that in the midst of my pity party that if I start to praise and show thanks and gratitude for what I do have, I quickly realize how much I don't have to worry about. I have complained that I don't have money after all my bills are paid. I can take that same statement and rephrase it and show gratitude. Instead I say, "I am thankful that I have an income that allows me to pay my bills, because I know that there are those that don't have money to pay their bills. Lord I thank and appreciate you for providing for me and my family. Please bless those that may be in need. "

If I am silently complaining about my husband and how his snoring gets on my nerves, I remind myself that there may be a widow or widower that may be missing their spouses snoring.

Instead of worrying about the future, focus on the gifts of the present.  Be joyful about the blessings that you do have.  If your heart is beating right now ( which if you are reading this .. I assume it is), be thankful. If you are able to breathe... GIVE thanks! If you are reading this.. give thanks for being able to use your sight and thank God for the mental capacity for being able to comprehend this message.Thank God for even having the resource (computer, phone) to be able to read this blog. ( Not because it is my blog, but just being able to afford or have access to these items) Oh folks! There is so much to be thankful for when you think about it. Hey, I even thank God for my toenails. Could you imagine life without them?

In Luke 12: 22-26, Jesus talks about how we should not worry about anything. The birds don't worry about their food and the grass does not have to worry to grow. Here is an excerpt for NIV version,

22 Then Jesus said to his disciples:“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[a]? 26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
Really take time to think about that!  Sure enough in life there will be those that seem to be doing  "better" in our eyes, but then remember there will be those that may be doing considerably "worst" too.  But ultimately, we should not worry about a thing!

Here are some other scriptures that I will recommend that you read:
